You may have not realized but teams from 19 countries are here in Pakistan to participate in PACES 2018

The Second International PACES (Physical Agility and Combat Efficiency System) competition started today with a grand opening ceremony held in Lahore’s Fortress Stadium under the arrangements of Pakistan Army.

The opening ceremony was attended by a large number of spectators including many from PAK army as well as the general public. The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa was the chief guest at the opening ceremony.

There are at least 16 domestic teams from Pakistan army and at least 17 international teams from 11 countries are taking part in the competition. The participants have arrived in Pakistan all the way from UK, UAE, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Nepal, Maldives, Malaysia, Kuwait, China, and Bahrain.

Nations including Uzbekistan, Turkey, Tajikistan, Russia, Myanmar, Italy, and Egypt will be participating as observers.

The PACES competition demands a very high level of combat skill to meet the challenges of modern-day warfare.

PACES is a Systematic training methodology that enables to develop a human’s physical and mental capabilities. The first championship was held at Lahore during 2016 which was won by Pakistan. Teams of Kuwait, UAE, China, Maldive armies have arrived. Remaining teams arriving by 7 Oct.

Each team will be required to display the level of physical fitness and other athletic performances that matter in warfare. Teams will be judged on their performance and competition times.

2nd International PACES (Physical Agility and Combat Efficiency System) Competition is being held at Lahore Garrison from 8-15 Oct.
