The 15-day Pakistan-Russian joint military training exercise ‘Druzhba-III’ has begun at the National Counter-Terrorism Center in Pabbi, KPK. To participate in this exercise, a Russian Contingent had already arrived in the country on Monday.
The joint military exercise is being held at an altitude of 1.4 thousand meters above sea level. It will last from October 21 to November 4. This is the third time the armies of the two countries are training together, hence the name Druzhba 3.
The first exercise between the two countries was held in Pakistan in 2016, while the second was held in Russia in 2017.
Druzhba-III will include training sessions on the destruction of conditional fighters (terrorists). At least 70 mountain shooters from Karachay-Cherkessia are taking part in the drills.
This exercise is also part of the Pakistan-Russia friendship in 2018.
Earlier today, intense video footage and photos from the ongoing training sessions were uploaded on a private military forum that made its way to social media.
The two sides are trying to bolster defense ties and in August this year, they inked an agreement allowing Pakistani troops to train in Russia.
