Huawei’s newest flagship the Huawei P20 seems to have struck the right chords for the Chinese mobile phone manufacturer.
According to official reports, Huawei has overtaken Apple in the second quarter of 2018 and has now become the second largest smartphone vendor in the world.
The company shipped 54 million handsets in the second quarter in the U.S which is a whopping increase of 41% from last year.
The leap in shipment is largely thanks to Huawei’s P20 which has turned out to be one of the best flagship phones of 2018 so far when compared to Apple and Samsung.
Samsung remains king
Speaking of Samsung, the Korean mega tech giant has retained the first spot as the largest smartphone manufacturer of the world by shipping 73 million units.
But surprisingly, This is an 8% decline from its performance last year.
Apple managed to only ship 41 million units this year so far with a 1% growth rate.
Huawei getting ahead of Apple is a huge step forward for the company especially given the fact that the USA agencies CIA, FBI, and the National Security Agency specifically asked the citizens to not use Huawei products or services out of concerns that the products are being used to spy.
In 2018, America is constantly making it hard for Chinese manufacturers and producers to sell their products in the country. But from the outcome of reports, it is clear that people aren’t willing to let go of Chinese products in America just yet.
