Emirates is set to launch A380, the biggest passenger plane from Islamabad Airport to Dubai

The Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan confirmed today that the New Islamabad International Airport will be the first to host A380 aircraft in the country.

The authority confirmed in a tweet saying that Emirates will be starting a flight from DXB-ISB starting July 2018.

The Airbus A380 is a large aircraft consisting of two decks capable of serving 525 people in a typical three-class configuration and 853 people in an all-economy class configuration.

The A380 is the largest commercial aircraft in the world and requires a special runaway that can host its large body. In Pakistan, the New Islamabad International Airport is the only airport that can handle an Airbus A380.

According to Civil Aviation Authority, this will be a permanent addition in the country and other airlines such as Thai, Qatar, and EtihadĀ is also expected to follow in the footsteps of Emirates.

Currently, Emirates is planning to operate at least one Airbus A380 flight from Islamabad to Dubai on a daily basis. Next, the airline will aim to increase the number of destinations for the aircraft.

It is unclear how the A380 for Islamabad and Dubai will be configured. But there will definitely be economy class and business class available on time of launch.
