Meet the 10 women athletes representing Pakistan at the Commonwealth Games 2018

The Commonwealth Games 2018 are being held on the Gold Coast, Australia from April 4 to April 15. As many as 56 Pakistani athletes will be representing Pakistan in various competitions.

The Pakistani squad is mostly made up of men but this year 10 women are also looking forward to representing the country alongside the men.

The athletes will showcase their skills in weightlifting, shooting, hockey, swimming, air shooting and more.

Meet the 10 women representing Pakistan this year

Najma Parveen
Athletics

Najma Parveen from Faisalabad will be representing Pakistan in athletics. She will be participating in the women’s 200m and 400m relays and hurdles.

Najma won six gold medals in the National Athletics Championship in Karachi last year.


Bisma Khan
Swimming

Bisma Khan from Lahore will be representing Pakistan in swimming. She will be participating in women’s 50m, 100m freestyle, and women’s 50m backstroke swimming.

She secured six gold medals in swimming competition before she turned thirteen at a local event.


Palwasha Bashir
Badminton

Palwasha Bashir from Karachi will be representing Pakistan in Badminton. She will participate in singles, doubles and mixed doubles competitions.


Mahnoor Shahzad
Badminton

Mahnoor Shahzad from Karachi will represent Pakistan in Badminton. She will participate in women’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles competitions.


Minhal Sohail
Rifle Shooting

Minhal Sohail will be representing Pakistan in air rifle shooting. She will participate in the women’s 10m air rifle shooting competition.


Mehwish Farhan
Air pistol shooting

Mehwish Farhan from Karachi will be representing Pakistan in air pistol shooting. She will participate in the women’s 10m air pistol shooting competition.


Faiza Zafar
Squash

Faiza Zafar from Sialkot will be representing Pakistan in Squash. She will participate in women’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles.


Madina Zafar
Squash

Madina Zafar from Gujranwala will be representing Pakistan in Squash. She will participate in women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles competitions.


Fatima Khan
Table Tennis

Fatima Khan from Lahore will be representing Pakistan in Table Tennis. She will participate in women’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles competitions.


Hareem Anwar Ali
Table Tennis

Hareem Anwar Ali from Karachi will be representing Pakistan in Table Tennis. She will participate in women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles competition.

The Pakistani Squad will be going up against more than 6,600 athletes from 71 Commonwealth Nations and Territories. We wish our athletes the best of luck in the upcoming games.
