The Pakistani cinema industry is getting better and better as the time passes. With increasing number of releases each year, the Pakistani audience finally has something to see created at home.
The latest breakthrough in the cinema industry of Pakistan took place today when Punjab Nahi Jaungi crossed RS. 50 Crore at the box office, making it the highest grossing film of Pakistan ever.
The highest grossing Pakistani film ever spot was previously held by Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, the 2015 hit film created by the same people behind PNJ. JPNA stood at 49.44 crores while PNJ now stands at 51 crores at the box office.
The third, fourth, and fifth places are held by Bin Roye, Waar, and Wrong No. respectively grossing at 40.05 crores, 35 crores, and 30.25 crores respectively.
Punjab Nahi Jaungi was released on Eid-Ul-Adha 2017 under the banner of Six Sigma Plus and quickly won the hearts of Pakistani’s all over the world.
The film starred Humayun Saeed and Mehwish Hayat, Ahmed Ali Butt, and Urwa Hocane in leading roles. It is a romantic comedy film written by Khalil-ur-Rehman and directed by Nadeem Baig.
Now Six Sigma Plus hopes to bring another breakthrough in Pakistani film industry through the sequel of Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 which is scheduled to release in 2018.
