Faisalabad is one of the largest and greatest industrial hubs of Pakistan. With the current population of Faisalabad standing at 5.88 million, the airport of the city hardly managed to cater the needs of domestic and international passengers.
But starting today, everything you know about Faisalabad International Airport has changed. The expansion project of the airport which has been in development for a couple of years have finally been finished and opened for public use.
The project has been completed by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Pakistan. The completed project has nearly doubled the covered area of the airport from 36,000 square feet previously to 73,000 square feet.
With the expansion, the handling capacity of both international and domestic passengers has also been doubled. The airport will now effectively handle 200 domestic and 400 international passengers at any given time.
12 new facilitation counters have also been added as part of the expansion that will facilitate large quantities of travelers that use the airport to travel across Pakistan and internationally.

During the inauguration ceremony of the expansion project of Faisalabad International Airport, the CAA assured that it was speedily upgrading other airports of the country as well including Peshawar, Quetta, Islamabad, and Lahore.
