This year’s Coke Studio came under fire for producing unsatisfactory tributes to legendary Pakistani artists and bands. The most notable tribute which came under fire was the ‘Sayonee’ tribute.
But later on the season, Coke Studio came back in the limelight when they released the tribute for Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s Dam Mast Qalandar with Umair Jaswal and Jabbar Abbas and produced other songs that were welcomed by the public.
The production team finally gave their best at the end of the season. Coke Studio finished it’s 10th season with a bang when it presented a very emotional and heartbreaking tribute to none other than the great Junaid Jamshed. The tribute was paid to one of his finest songs ever, ‘Us Rah Par’.
Us Rah Par tribute was also special because it marked the return of Strings. It has been quite long since anyone has heard the voice of Bilal Maqsood which felt great. The song was written by Shoaib Mansoor and was sung by Ali Hamza and Ali Zafar.
The tribute was welcomed by the entire nation and it left everyone emotional. The contribution of Junaid Jamshed to our music industry will never leave our hearts.
