Apple to release ‘iPhone X’ alongside iPhone 8 and 8 Plus?

With Apple ready to go live and announce its new iPhones and release iOS 11 on 12th September, the leaks have started flowing in. Apparently, an eagle eyed game developer came across a couple of software leaks today that revealed the names of the upcoming phones by Apple.

A tweet from Steven Troughton-Smith, someone who has already successfully released Apple information before it is publicly released has claimed that the new iPhone names are as follows:

  • iPhone 8
  • iPhone 8 Plus
  • iPhone X

In his tweet, he also included a snap of a code from Apple iOS 11 firmware allegedly leaking the information of the new phones and the software that will run them.

Although Apple code is known to provide misleading information on phone names, this time the leaks look quite solid.

iPhone’s 10th Anniversary

One of the reasons why iPhone X is looking like the real deal is because iPhone will be celebrating its 10th anniversary and the ‘X’ in the name iPhone X implies the number 10 in roman figures.

According to experts, if there is indeed an iPhone X, it may be one of a kind phone that will be different from the regular iPhones 8 and 8 Plus.

There is also speculation that the iPhone X will be available in very limited quantities and will mostly serve as a limited edition phone with very high-end specifications beating that of iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.

Whether this is true or not, we’ll have to wait and see for the official announcement during Apple’s live event on September 12.
