Meet The British-Pakistani Man Who Became Part Of The World’s Largest Movie Franchise

Fans of Star Wars will once again have the chance to travel to a galaxy far, far away.

On December 16, the much-anticipated spin-off story of Star Wars is set to release.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will tell the story of an operation you may already know about as a fan.

It will tell the tale of the mission to steal the Death Star’s plans.

For Pakistanis, this Star Wars movie will be extra special because it features Riz Ahmed, a British-born Pakistani.

Ahmed is playing Rebel Bodhi Rook in the movie. His role is expected to be a large one.

In addition to Star Wars, Ahmed has been a part of many notable projects such as the critically acclaimed HBO series ‘The Night Of’.

He has also been alongside Matt Damon in Jason Bourne.

Ahmed broke into Hollywood after his critically acclaimed performance in the Nightcrawler movie, where he played Rick.

Ahmed considers himself a fan of the Star Wars franchise but admits that working for the very same franchise has been an overwhelming experience for him.

The actor recently spoke to CBC News, explaining how unreal it felt to be a part of the franchise.

Ahmed Isn’t Just An Actor

Outside of his filming career, Riz Ahmed is also a rapper who goes by the moniker Riz MC. He released his debut album MICroscope in 2011.
