During its Year-End Zeitgeist for 2016, Google revealed the 2016’s top searches and people in Pakistan.
While the search trends were mainly focused on sports, the search for personalities/people were very different.
From the search of 2016’s top people, it is clear that Pakistanis indulge in following different characters from national and international backgrounds.
The search lists down musicians, actors, controversial personalities and politicians.
Here is the complete official list of most searched people in Pakistan in 2016 on Google.
1. Qandeel Baloch
Qandeel Baloch rose to fame in Pakistan and beyond through her Facebook posts and videos. She would occasionally post questionable content on her page.
She was killed by her brother in Multan earlier this year over ‘Honor’.

2. Amjad Sabri
Amjad Sabri was known throughout Pakistan and overseas for his unmatched Qawwali performances. He occasionally appeared on TV shows where he performed with his team.
During Ramadan this year, Amjad Sabri was shot down by gunmen riding a bike in a Karachi Neighbourhood near to his home.

3. Abdul Sattar Edhi
Renowned humanitarian, philanthropist and ascetic, Abdul Sattar Edhi dedicated his entire life to helping people in need. He founded the Edhi Foundation which has helped the homeless and individuals in need by providing shelters, rehab centers, orphanages, hospitals and ambulance services.
Edhi passed away at the age of 88 on July 8 after suffering from kidney failure.

4. Donald Trump
Donald Trump shocked the world by winning the U.S Presidential Elections. In Pakistan, he became controversial for his statements against immigrants and Muslims in the U.S.

5. Momina Mustehsan
Momina Mustehsan gained fame through her performance in the 9th season of Coke Studio. She sang ‘Afreen Afreen’ alongside Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
The song was also most viewed music video in the list ‘Most watched music videos of 2016 in Pakistan‘ by Youtube.

6. Mumtaz Qadri
Mumtaz Qadri was executed at the Adiala Jail earlier this year. He was convicted of killing Salman Taseer, the former governor of Punjab.
7. Pratyusha Banerjee
Pratyusha was best known for her role as Anandi in the Indian TV series ‘Balika Vadhu’. She also appeared in Big Boss season 7 which a very popular reality tv show in Pakistan and India.
She was found dead in her Mumbai residence earlier this year.

8. Hilary Clinton
Hilary Clinton was standing against Donald Trump in the Presidential Elections of U.S. She had a shocking defeat after her chances were looking good.

9. Melania Trump
Melania Trump was featured on the front-page of the New York Post. The picture became controversial because it featured a naked Melania Trump.
The picture showed Melania hugging another naked woman.

10. DJ Bravo (Dwayne Bravo)
Dwayne Bravo was part of the squad that won this year’s T20 world cup.
During the same time, Dwayne released his debut music video ‘Champion’ and appeared on the TV with the moniker DJ Bravo.
