X-Men Spinoff TV Series Is Coming – Connected To Movieverse

X-Men Spinoff TV Series titled ‘Legion’ is heading your way in 2017. It was recently confirmed that the new TV series will be a partnership between Marvel and Fox studios.

The TV series will premier in early 2017. The showrunner of the series is Noah Hawley who has also worked on Fargo. The official synopsis released is followed:

Legion introduces the story of David Haller: Since he was a teenager, David has struggled with mental illness. Diagnosed as schizophrenic, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. But after a strange encounter with a fellow patient, he’s confronted with the possibility that the voices he hears and the visions he sees might be real.

The showrunner explained that the new TV series will mostly avoid a ‘run and kick’ approach of recent super-heroes based television series. He intends to do something very different for the audience in order to tell the story accurately.

The character David Haller firs appeared in an 1985 issue of the New Mutants. It will be the first television X-men show that will have direct involvement of Marvel in an X-men television universe. For this, Marvel went out and obtained the rights of the property from Fox.

Reportedly, there is another X-Men spinoff series in development titled ‘Hellfire’. Although no details are available, we only know that it will be aired on the Fox channel and the story will revolve around the Hellfire Club.
