More And More Chinese Universities Are Now Offering Urdu Teaching Programmes

Many of the Chinese universities are expanding their urdu teaching classes. According to sources in the country, admissions in Urdu subject are currently being opened in many of the universities in the country. For example, the Beijing Foreign Studies University is planning to admit as many as 20 students onto their Urdu teaching program this year.

In 2012, about 11 total students took on Urdu in the same university. These people are now graduating, opening doors for new admissions.

Joining in the trend are University of Foreign Studies and Xi’an International Studies University.

Recently the National University of Sciences and Technology founded a Chinese Studies Centre (CSC) in its School of Social Sciences and Humanities. This centre will offer studies in many different subjects of which one includes aspects of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

The centre is being headed by Syed Hasan Javed who has spent around 10 years in the country on at least two diplomatic assignments. He has also written two books in the native language.
