Facebook has just launched a brand new feature on the popular social media platform. Users from across the globe can now upload 360 degrees photos to show of their photography skills to others.
The photos however will not require you to have a 360 degree camera. You can easily take panoramic photos from your mobileĀ and then convert them to 360 degree view.
It seems Facebook when bought the Oculus Rift was definitely up to something. With the newly launched 360 degree photos and videos, the social media network is ready to take the virtual reality world by storm. It could now go next to live video chat through 360 cameras or even introduce games on its own platform.
For now, all the videos and photos that are 360 compatible can easily be viewed from your preferred virtual reality headset.
Here is the official launch post from Mark Zuckerberg and a demo of the 360 degree photo.
